Yum-yum ABC Porridge!

This time... Oscar can finish the porrdige - A big bowl! Huray!

I am so happy... he is eating... the porridge... more & more...
See he is enjoying the porridge so much.... hahaha! muaks to my lil darling!

Yum-yum....

We bring the porridge out to Jusco because of an appointment with friends there... First time, Oscar having his 'homecook porridge' outside... hmm... I should say 'mom's cook porridge'.... This is also the first time I am using this new thermos (food jar) for Oscar's porridge (have been keep it for months....) LOL! :D

MENU: Sweet Corn / ABC Porridge

errrrr........ see how I mess up the kitchen?..... Actually this is consider as normal scene... you can not imagine the worst scenario in my kitchen everytime after I cook... hahaha!

Boiling the ingredients..... SPECIAL THANKS To Mummy Carol for her homeSweethome Sweet Corn/ABC soup menu.

SOooooooo........ presentable!! SOoooooooo Proud!! haha! Hubby teasing:"Well... Once.... in a blue moon!" :S

A very simple ABC Soup/porridge Menu for you & for every mummies here... but definitely not for me. As I think most of you already know very well - my very 'terrible horrible & vegetable' kitchen skill. So... a simple menu for you... but it means a lot to me ok... LOL!! :D

But... I really complete the task with my heart this time... which mean, I really put effort on doing all this, not simply do it, not CCCC (cin-cin-cai-cai)... hahah! Guess what? I spend almost 3hrs+ to finish the whole 'ABC process'... for me, this is not as simple as ABC huh!
While preparing the ingredients & before get started... I keep sms with Carol... for SOS! hahaha!
A SPECIAL THANKS to CAROL... Succeed! muaks!
Last but not least: HOW TO ENHANCE MY KITCHEN SKILL huh?!?!?

BUT... BUT... This is porridge??

1: Mummy told me that she cooked a yummy porridge for me yeaterday, after we came back from my chicken-pox jab... wah! That is my favourite cod fish... mom is feeding me with my first Cod Fish Porridge...

2: hmm....hm.. hm.... mom... may I know what is that?.....Is that really... porridge?

3: Mom... do you understand how I feel now?... (with the porridge in my mouth)

4: try... try & try... try to taste the good taste of the porridge... try one more... decided.... to go for one more try... huh...

5: Give up! Sorry... mom........ I had try my... best.... sorry & thank you...

Cod Fish Porrigde

Finally the cod fish was 'unfreeze' from the fridge on yesterday, 8 August 2009... that is few days later... as mali hom said... it may not as fresh as 'newly' bought already... haih...

Since I also thinking the same: after few days the cod fish will not so 'freshy' therefore I decided to cook 'Cod Fish Porridge' for my darling Oscar. I cut the cod fish into cubes to make it totally 'boneless'.
Ingredients: Cod Fish + Crunchy tomato + Dry Scalops (gan bei)

Here you go - the nice cutting of cod fish's flesh

This is the 'left over' cod-fish on my small tiny cutie chopping board (traditional round wooden chopping board)

I cooked the porridge by using my slow cooker (set: High) @ 12.30pm & I patting Oscar sleep @ 2pm... & I myself again "tertidur" with Oscar & finally wake up @ 5.30pm... huhu.. dangerous... lucky I am using slow cooker if not....
Result: Porrigde looks nice with the crunchy tomato, the taste was so sweet, yum yum! I like it!

Outcome: This is Oscar's mama's kitchen - FIRST Cod Fish Porridge
Due to cooking by slow cooker, the porridge become very 'sticky'... can you see the fish flesh over? Look nice & yummy isn't it???
BUT... BUT... BUT... althought I am quiet Satisfied with the Outcome.... BUT... BUT.................

Fact Finding on Pasta

Pertaining to the issue of the Heinz Pasta which I prepared for Oscar, herewith some "fact-finding" to share.

After chit-chatting in MP Forum - Pek-Pek Club on my failure on this Pasta, mummy Carol did shared with me that this sauce I used (Heinz - Mum's Recipe RM4.90) is oily & might not suitable for baby. She also suggested to use the "white sauce" or "pumpkin sauce" which special mention on this Pasta's "cooking instruction".

I was not able to get ths 2 sauces because it was out of stock. Since I am so eager to cook this pasta for Oscar, without second thought, I get this Heinz Sauce - Mum's Recipe (Creamy Pasta Tuna sauce), which stated suitable for 7mths+++.

I am just thinking that if I use the white sauce/pumpkin sauce which special design for this Pasta, then Oscar might not gone through all the terrible experience. If this really the real fact, then this title should change to "Fault Finding".

I never cook the sauce. After the pasta boiled in water for 15min, I just dry it, then I put all the sauce on top the pasta, then I use Microwave to heat for 5min. I think this is the main cause on Oscar diarhhea. How can I prepare baby food with MICROWAVE? I really upset on my wrong doing! This is another "Fault Finding".

My personal opinion:
The sauce looks oily & maybe Oscar's little stomach not get use to all this 'high end' baby food yet. As his daily main recipe is nanny's nutricious porridge & butterscoth bread as his snack/tea break.

But I did let Oscar try on outside food - Pizza Hut's chicken pasta for few time but he is fine with it.

I always said myself is an idiot in kitchen. This pasta is another proven result on my 'idiot in kitchen' theory. I do not know when... I can become an "Ideal in kitchen"?!

My first pasta

This is the pasta I cooked for Oscar - Heinz.
Outcome: looks ugly; too watery
Result: Pity Oscar diarrhea for 4 times & vomitting for twice after took this pasta.
I really very upset on my mistaken. I cooked the sauce 'Heinz - Mum's Recipe (Creamy Tuna Pasta Sauce)" with microwave for 5min. I thought that sauce are 'cooked' & I just need to warm it up to served.
The result telling me that I am very wrong. Oscar got his stomachead after 3 hrs, he cried in pain & I felt that his hands & feets are cold... he sweating a lot - cold sweat.

"Sorry darling! mommy just wish to let you try on something new on your recipe but make you go into all this. Mommy really feel heart sick. Lucky you just took for few tea spoon... mommy can see you not really like it. If you finish up the whole bowl... I can't imagine what will going on..."
I can't stop blaming myself on this mistake & I keep telling myself that: No more second time.
